Supervise the offshore welding operations executed by CONTRACTOR and its SUBCONTRACTORS:
- Review and be familiar with the welding procedures, specifications and inspection test plans relevant to its discipline and activities offshore.
- Attend to inspection required in the relevant ITP and ensure that all related procedure/standards are correctly applied.
- Verify that offshore welding and related QC activities are performed by qualified operators/inspectors, according the relevant procedure, within the allocated time.
- Ensure the works is closely and adequately inspected by CONTRACTOR and SUBCONTRACTORS’ Surveillance or QC team.
- Ensure that equipments, for the manufacturing and inspection activities, are adequate, available, in operation, calibrated when applicable, to execute the project scope of work, according to safety and quality requirements.
- Idendify any non-conformance and ensure non-conformance are issued by CONTRACTOR. Participate in the elaboration of corrective action if necessary.
- Challenge CONTRACTORS and SUBCONTRACTORS on their Welding and QC activites performance.
- Anticipate problems in his discipline and propose solution(s) or optimisation(s).
- Implement when applicable Management of change procedures.
- Review deliverables relevant to its discipline (QC records) issued by CONTRACTOR. Report any discrepancies or delay.
- Participate to tool box talk.
- Monitors and records the CONTRACTOR/SUBCONTRACTORS progress related to his/her discipline activities and report any expected slippage on schedule.
- Maintain line of communication with the Project QC Lead and Material/Welding/NDE lead.
- Report daily, on his activity pertaining to welding works offshore, to the Offshore Company Representative, QC Lead and Material/welding/NDE lead.
- Liaise with other disciplines when relevant.
- Prepare comprehensive and complete handover for his back to back.
Participate in REX effort (Lessons learnt, Close-out report)
Qualification:
- Engineering degree in mechanics/material discipline.
- International Welding Engineering Degree (ESSA, IWE,...or equivalent) mandatory.
Professional Experience (number of years) :
- Minimum 10 years in welding / welding supervision / welding inspection / material /NDE activities.
Minimum 5 years experience in offshore pipelaying is mandatory.
Others Requirements:
- A good knowledge of International codes/standards related to design, fabrication and inspection in offshore pipeline. Knowledge of COMPANY GS Referential would be a plus.
- Be skilled in using computer programs for Word processing, database management, spreadsheets and e-mail communications.
- Extended capability in managing self – time management, setting priorities, etc.
- Extended capability in developing working relationships through effective communication.
- Be fluent in English.
- OGUK Offshore Medical Certificate & BOSIET(OPITO) compulsory
STCW 95 would be a plus.
